The Deeper CHIRP Smart Sonar is minimally affected by distorting signals in the water. As a result, this system is capable of making highly accurate sonar measurements in shallow water. It is even possible to locate fish swimming just 15 cm below the surface of the water. However, fish can also be located in waters up to 100 meters deep. The Deeper CHIRP system is capable of scanning an area with a beam and wide angle of 47° (100 kHz). This has the advantage that anglers can quickly detect where fish are hiding and use this information to determine whether or not a fishing spot is suitable. Have you found a good fishing spot? Then we recommend that you use the mid-angle beam of 16° (290 kHz) to properly map the fishing spot. If you want to look specifically for a particular species of fish, we recommend using the precise 7° angle beam (675 kHz).
