Victron Cyrix Battery Combiners for lead-acid starter battery and a LiFePO4 battery
Available in version: 120A / 230A
The Cyrix battery separator is a microprocessor-controlled heavy-duty relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one of the batteries has reached the preset voltage (indicating that the battery is charging) and disconnects it when the voltage drops below the trickle charge level (indicating that one or more batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery isolators are an excellent alternative to diode charge dividers. The main feature is that voltage loss is practically zero, so there is no need to increase the output voltage of alternators or battery chargers.
All versions are 12V/24V
The functionality of the Cyrix-Li-ct is analogous to the Cyrix-ct.
The Cyrix-Li-ct makes a parallel connection to a lead-sulfuric acid starter battery and a LiFePO4 battery:
- when the charge disconnection output voltage of the VE.Bus BMS is high, and
- if 13.4V (resp. 26.8V) or more at any of the power terminals.
The Cyrix disconnects immediately:
- if the control output voltage becomes 'free floating' and thus establishes cell overvoltage or cell over-temperature, and/or
- if the battery voltage drops below 13.2V.
Starting aid function: a short negative impulse closes the relay for 30 seconds (see figure on page 2).
A built-in overvoltage limiter limits the voltage spike that can occur if the Cyrix suddenly disconnects due to
cell overvoltage or over-temperature.
