Mount a Smartphone Mount on the handle of your fishing rod so that the Deeper is at the front.
Use o-rings to attach the Smartphone Mount to the handle. Hook the orange plastic hook into an o-ring, pull it along the rod handle and attach to another orange, plastic hook. Use one or more o-rings to secure the Smartphone Mount to the handle. Make sure you attach them securely.
Mount your phone when the Smartphone Mount is ready. Gently apply all four silicone holders, one at a time, to each corner of your phone. Make sure your device is properly secured.
Shake the rod a few times before casting to ensure the Smartphone Mount is functioning properly.

On iOS, use the Smartphone Mount either way, horizontally or vertically, depending on how you want the sonar data to be displayed on your smartphone screen. Standard for Android is horizontal.
